We were delighted to see over a 100 passionate professionals and students come to celebrate the launch of Tapping into Nature, Terrapin’s newest publication about bioinspired innovation! In collaboration with BiomimicryNYC, a regional consortium of individuals dedicated to fostering nature-inspired practice, and the Open Space Institute, an organization dedicated to protecting scenic, natural and historic landscapes, Terrapin Bright Green held the launch event in the beautiful Pier A Harbor House. The evening featured presentations by Chris Garvin, partner at Terrapin and co-author of Tapping into Nature, and Bryony Schwan, founder of the Biomimicry Institute. Ms. Schwan praised Tapping into Nature for its comprehensive, cross-sector look at bioinspired innovation. Mr. Garvin expressed hope that this paper would inspire more researchers, designers, and companies to utilize bioinspiration as an approach to research and development for a prosperous, healthier, and more resilient world. Mr. Garvin also introduced the paper’s interactive graphic featuring 101 bioinspired technologies at various development stages.
