Experience:

Southwest Regional Core

Over the next 30 years, this 3200 acre site in the southwest American desert will be developed into a new urban, business, residential, and social core for the region. Seeking to establish a “new desert urbanism,” the developer and master planners want the area to consist of walkable communities with social amenities and convenient retail and mixed-use areas, while making the least possible impact on the environment. To this end, Terrapin facilitated an Environmental Opportunities Charrette that delved into issues of energy, transportation, water, and wastewater to identify recommended strategies and implications of urban design, infrastructure, building design, and planning of the development. Detailed Terrapin Case Studies are available in the Workroom, our private extranet full of detailed information and resources to help you make an informed decision.
