HP Bulmer Ltd is a multibillion-dollar producer of hard cider based in the United Kingdom. As a worldwide distributor, their operations have a large-scale impact. In 2002, Bill Browning was one of the leaders that facilitated a multiple-day charrette to examine all parts of Bulmer’s corporate operations. As a result of the charrette, the client resolved to improve environmental performance in six areas of operations and two areas of community influence: land use, sustainable agriculture (harvesting), manufacturing processes, packaging and transportation, marketing, management, community, and corporate stakeholders.
