ANNOUNCING: 2021 Biophilic Design Workshop Series

Designing with nature could be described as an industry response to health and wellbeing trends. But there is a history and science to this practice known as ‘biophilic design’. Biophilia is the innate connection between humans and nature. Biophilic design is the expression of those experiences of nature for a healthier built environment.

Since our September 2020 publication Nature Inside: A Biophilic Design Guide, and in the wake of the global pandemic, Terrapin has welcomed a surge of interest in biophilic design, particularly for interior environments, from the office and home to schools and healthcare facilities, as well as civic and outdoor spaces. Of particular interest to us is the relationship between the design of buildings, interiors and landscapes in creating a holistic biophilic experience in sync with our physical infrastructure and local ecosystems.

In response to inquiries, we have crafted a series of biophilic design presentations and workshops for general knowledge, targeted and interactive learning, and for active projects. See our Biophilic Design Workshops flyer for an overview and ask us about scheduling a session or crafting a bespoke workshop to meet your specific needs and interests, including interior design, architecture, landscape architecture and product design.
